Our Story

We have made a conscious decision not to have our own vineyard (where the fruit quality is restricted to one location / weather events etc), but instead prefer to develop close relationships with vignerons (grape growers) producing premium fruit in some of the best regions for each variety. We are present in the vineyard at every harvest possible, standing on the picking bin of the tractor, overseeing the fruit quality as it is hand-picked from the vines & tasting and ensuring fruit quality constantly throughout harvest. The prized fruit is then transported in cool conditions, often overnight or early morning, to our winery where they begin their journey to fine wine.

Our approach is intensely hands on, ensuring focus on the details throughout. Small parcels of premium fruit are nurtured, and hand processed with individual attention and minimal winemaking intervention. Quite the opposite to large “industrial style” processes with large tanks & volumes. We assess every batch and optimise the winemaking style for that individual batch of fruit, to allow the premium fruit to shine.

If for whatever reason we cannot source the quality of fruit needed to achieve our premium wine goal, we do (& have) not made wines of a particular vintage, rather than compromise on quality.

In short, our passion is to produce great tasting premium wines, and to achieve this we source only the best fruit & use the highest quality oaks and winemaking techniques – no compromise.
